I recently read that most or all ABC shows will soon have their shows either with Spanish closed captioning or dubbed in Spanish so that people in U.S. who speak Spanish can enjoy the shows. They said this is very expensive for the network but that they feel it is imporrtant. Well excuse me for being politically incorrect, but many of those people choose not to learn English. And to my knowledge, none of who are blind chose to be blind, and we would like to be able to enjoy television shows more too. So why don't they and other networks spend the money to put audio description for their shows?

I agree with you. Fortunately this problem will be resolved when digital TV replaces what we have today, and there will be enough audio channels that the networks won't have to choose between either foreign language programming or DVS. I guess the reason ABC is going with Spanish is because there are more Spanish-speaking viewers than blind viewers, and therefore the return on investment would be higher.
